Backup your Hotmail™ and Gmail®
With online mailing services, we rarely consider backing up our e-mails. But, the truth is that things may go wrong anytime. In such a situation, you may lose your account. If you don’t want to see yourself in such a mess then here is the solution. MailStore is a software which connects to your e-mail account via IMAP and POP3, working with several desktop clients, such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, and Mozilla Thunderbird. The software comes in two editions: Home Edition and Full Edition. Full edition is useful for businesses, but if you are a home computer user, you can use the Home edition, which is available for free.
In order to back up Hotmail and Gmail with MailStore software, you will need to follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Once you have downloaded the appropriate software edition, go to its main menu and click on ‘Archive E-mail’. Before that, you will have to provide your account details, including username and password. If you are using desktop clients, such as Windows Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Microsoft Outlook, you will have to click the available options and select your profile.
- In order to enable MailStore to make a connection, go to your Gmail or Hotmail settings, click on ‘Forwarding & POP/IMAP’ tab and enable ‘POP3 & IMAP’. If it is POP3, select ‘All Mail’ to archive.
Archiving process may take a few minutes, as all your e-mail folders are being backed up. But the next time, only the new entries will need to be archived and it will not take much time. With the search engine of MailStore, you can search for specific messages within seconds. The only thing you need to remember is that the software does not back up your accounts automatically. You will have to run the program regularly.
