It has options for adding/removing e-mail accounts, sending/receiving e-mails, creating special folders, etc. It also allows the users to easily integrate with existing e-mail accounts allowing them to keep up with their favorite e-mails and important contacts. It helps the users to manage all of their e-mail accounts with a single, easy-to-use interface. The ease-of-use options of Outlook 2007 include adding events to calendar, reminder feature, creating tasks and scheduling appointments, e-mail notifications, etc.
Discussed below are some runtime errors that arise in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and different ways to fix them:
- Runtime Error in Outlook Today
- Visual C++ Runtime Error
- Runtime Error while printing from Outlook
Runtime Error in Outlook Today
From time to time, a runtime error occurs while opening the ‘Outlook Today’ page. The error reads as “A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug? Line: 297 Error: class not registered. This usually occurs if the Outlook 2007 installation is corrupted. Renaming the ‘outlwvw.dll’ file to ‘outlwvw.old’ will fix this issue. If you can’t find where this file is located, follow these steps. Click on ‘Start’ menu, select ‘Search’ and click on ‘All files and folders’. In the textbox provided next to 'All or part of the file name', type 'outlwvw.dll' and click on ‘Search’. In the search results provided in the right panel, right-click on 'outlwvw.dll' and click ‘Rename’. Type 'outlwvw.old' and hit ‘Enter’. The issue is now fixed.
Visual C++ Runtime Error
At times Outlook 2007 might yield an error saying “Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error. This error occurs when there is a conflict between Outlook 2007 and other programs like Acrobat, AVG, Norton, etc. To fix this issue, open the 'Registry Editor' window by going to ‘Start’ menu and select ‘Run’. Type 'regedit' and hit ‘Enter’. Find the key by expanding ‘HKEY LOCAL MACHINE’, ‘Software’, ‘Microsoft’, ‘Office’, ‘Outlook’, and finally ‘addins’. Change the value of the file related with your error to ‘0’. For example, if Acrobat is causing the issue, change the value of ‘pdf’ to ‘0’. If AVG is the reason, change the value of ‘avgoutlook.Addin’ to ‘0’. If you are not sure about the program, try changing it one by one and note which add-in caused the problem.
Runtime Error While Printing from Outlook
Outlook 2007 also displays runtime errors while trying to print from it. The error displays a message like “A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 1343. Unspecified error. This problem occurs only when you try to print HTML data and not text data. The reason behind this error is due to the corrupted 'ole32.dll' file. This file helps to integrate Outlook 2007 with Word, which actually does the HTML editing for Outlook. To fix the issue, go to ‘Start’ menu and click ‘Run’. Type 'Regsvr32.exe %Windir%System32Ole32.dll' and hit ‘Enter’. An information message arises letting you know that the process has succeeded. The runtime error is now resolved.
