Reduce the Mailbox Size
Another reason for not receiving mails in Microsoft Outlook 2010 is the user utilizing cached mode and has a mailbox over 2 GB in size. This is due to the offline file present on the user’s computer that has a size limitation of 2 GB and will not allow mail to be sent or received. To overcome this problem you need to delete all the old unwanted messages and turn off the cache mode.

Check Settings
Sometimes you may find problem while sending e-mails in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and will receive error messages saying that you are unable to log on to SMTP server. For this you need to check the settings in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and also check your e-mail address. You need to authenticate the outgoing server and use the same setting for incoming mail server.

    Now I understood why I was not able to send any mail through my Microsoft Outlook 2010. I cleared all my unwanted mails and attached files time to time but I think something is wrong with the settings of my account.
