Microsoft Outlook is an e-mail client. When we enter names and e-mail addresses in fields such as 'To', 'Cc', 'Bcc' etc., auto complete suggest the list of frequent items that we usually enter. When you enter the first letter, AutoComplete begins to suggest possible matches. This is based on the names you have typed before. We can enable/disable AutoComplete feature easily in Microsoft Outlook. We can also delete individual entries of AutoComplete lists. The names that you use less frequently will appear at the bottom of the list and will disappear later.

AutoComplete feature of Microsoft Outlook displays a list of e-mail addresses when you type an e-mail address in 'To'/'CC'/'Bcc' field. This feature is very useful to find the recipient's e-mail address but it also remembers old and mistyped addresses. To disable AutoComplete feature, open Microsoft Outlook and click on 'Tools' and select 'Options' and then select 'Preference' tab. Choose 'Advanced E-mail Options' from 'E-mail Options'. Remove the checkmark against 'Suggest names when completing To:, Cc: or Bcc fields'. Then click on 'Ok'.
Remove E-mail Address from AutoComplete List
We can remove a name or e-mail addresses from AutoComplete list. In order to remove it, create a new e-mail message in Outlook. Then start typing the address or name you want to remove from the list. Then select the e-mail address you want to remove using up or down arrow key. After selecting the item, press 'Delete' button.
We can delete the entire AutoComplete List of Microsoft Outlook by resetting AutoComplete cache. In order to reset it, open 'Folder' option from 'Control Panel' and click on 'Tools' menu. Choose 'Options' and select 'View' tab. Under advanced settings enable 'Show hidden files and folders'. Click 'Ok'. Now open 'Run' command from 'Start' menu and type "*.nk2" and right click on the file and select 'Rename'. Then rename the file '.bak' file. Close Windows Explorer and restart Outlook.
