Features of Microsoft® Outlook® 2007
Discuss the features of Microsoft Outlook 2007, and the tips to resolve the issues while using it.
E-mails are used by almost all computer users, there are many e-mail domains and Internet service providers who provide e-mail service. Usually to check or send e-mail you have to open the webmail, type in your e-mail address and the password to sign in to your E-mail account. Microsoft Outlook 2007 is one of the best e-mail clients used by many professionals and home users. There are many advantages of using it. Once you configure your e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and you do not have to log in to the webmail each to send or receive e-mails. You can read the received e-mails even when you are offline. You can merge Microsoft Outlook 2007 with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint etc., which would allow you to directly send e-mails from merged programs via Microsoft Outlook 2007. You can customize your Inbox by creating folders for some or all e-mail senders and create message rules according to which the received e-mails would be re-directed to the created folders in Inbox.
Following are some common issues that could occur in Microsoft Outlook 2007 while sending the e-mails:
- Authentication errors
- Unable to send attachments
- "Error 0x800ccc79"
You need to type in the e-mail and click on 'Send' button, if you are offline. The e-mail is stored in the Outbox and waits for the Internet connection, and send it as soon as the Internet connection is established. Before sending the e-mail, your e-mail account is authenticated on the outgoing server and if it’s found to be wrong, you get authentication error. So, check the user name, password and outgoing e-mail server settings, set them right and then try to send the e-mail.
Unable to send large attachments
Sometimes, you experience an issue with e-mail attachments. You can send e-mails with no attachment but when you try to send an e-mail with an attachment, you receive an error message. The reason for this issue can be your antivirus program blocking the e-mails with attachments or your Internet service provider has restricted from sending e-mails with large attachments. So, disable the outgoing e-mail scanning feature of your antivirus program and then try to send e-mails with attachments or contact your Internet service provider to check the attachment limitation.
After you type in the e-mail message, you have to type the e-mail address to which the e-mail has to be sent. You get an error “Server rejected the recipient” if the e-mail address that you have entered is wrong or invalid. So, make sure that you type in the right e-mail address before you send the e-mail to avoid such errors.
