Select the folder which contains your e-mails and check the box near 'Include Subfolders' if the folder includes subfolders and then click ‘Next’. Click on ‘Browse’ button and provide a name and location where you want to backup the file. Finally, click ‘Finish’.
The method mentioned above exports the e-mails into a .pst file which is only readable with Microsoft Outlook or similar programs. In order to save e-mails into a text file, follow the following steps. Select the message you wish to save. If you want to select multiple messages hold on ‘Ctrl’ key and select the messages one by one. After all the messages you wish to save are selected, release the ‘Ctrl’ key and click the ‘File’ button. Select ‘Save as…’ and choose 'Text Only (or Text Only (*.txt))' in the ‘Save as Type’ box. Provide a name and location to which the file is to be saved. Click ‘Save’ and your e-mails will be saved in a text file.
