Delete registry key
You need to remove the Profiles key from the system registry to fix the issue with Microsoft Outlook. To do this, you need to type "regedit" in the Run prompt of the system. You need to open HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder and locate Windows Messaging Subsystem sub key. You can then locate the Profiles key located under this sub key. Next step is to right click 'Profiles' and select 'Delete' option. You can then click on 'Yes' button and get the key removed. Finally, exit the Registry Editor and restart Microsoft Outlook application.
Disable compatibility setting
You can try disabling the compatibility setting. To do this, you need to locate the Outlook.exe file. It will be located in Microsoft Office folder of Program files. You need to then select and right click the Outlook.exe file. It will bring a pop-up window in which you need to click on 'Properties' option. Then, remove checkmark for 'the Run this program in compatibility mode for' option in the Compatibility tab. Finally, click on 'OK' button of the Properties box and try to open Microsoft Outlook application again in the system.
Reset navigation pane
You can try resetting the navigation pane in Microsoft Outlook if some unwanted changes made to the pane are resulting in Microsoft Outlook being unable to open. To do this, you need to open the Start menu of the system and type "OUTLOOK /RESETNAVPANE" in the Run prompt. You can thus see the navigation pane set to default settings and can open the Microsoft Outlook application successfully. If you cannot use this method, then you can type “%appdata%MicrosoftOutlook in Run prompt. You can see the Windows Explorer opened in which you need to delete the profile with the extension XML ().
