Setting up new E-mail
What are the tips to resolve the issues that can come while setting up new e-mail?
E-mails have become one of the commonly used and easiest ways to communicate with dear and near ones. You can type in your message, attach pictures or files to the e-mail message sent it to a person who could be miles and miles away from you. E-mails are delivered within seconds. E-mails are used for personal and professional uses. To sent an e-mail you need to set up an e-mail account with on any e-mail serving domain like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail etc. Once you create an e-mail account, you would be provided an e-mail address and a password. You can open the webmail by typing in the website address on which you created the e-mail account. Then you need to enter the e-mail address and the password that was provided to you, when the account was created. Now you are ready to send and receive e-mails.
Following are different problems that may arise while setting up a new e-mail account:
- E-mail ID already in use
- Password strength
- Left out mandatory fields
E-mail ID already in use
Since the e-mail service is common in use, almost everyone has an e-mail account. E-mail address has to be unique for each user. So, when you try to create an e-mail address one of your choices, you might get an error message stating that the "E-mail address that you have selected is already in use". You will be given a list of similar e-mail addresses and you can choose one of them or try to create the account with another e-mail address of your choice.
E-mail accounts are password protected. No one can sign in to your e-mail account unless they know you e-mail account password. Most e-mail domains have password policies and criteria. If you enter a password for the e-mail account which does not have eight digits or characters you might get a message informing you about the password criteria. You need to set the password for the e-mail account according to password criteria specified by the e-mail domain. Your e-mail password should have eight or more digits or characters.
When you create an e-mail account, an user profile for the e-mail account is created, for which you are asked to fill up a form with your name, phone number, age, education etc. There are many mandatory fields on the form which would be indicated with a star and if any of those mandatory fields are left out, the e-mail registration would not be completed. So, make sure that you fill in all required information on the registration form before you click on 'Submit'.
