Create the auto reply content
To start with you first need to create the auto reply content. You can open the Notepad and you can then type in the message you want to appear in the body of your auto reply mail. Now you can select the 'File' option and chose to save the file by clicking 'Save now' under the file name, you can type in 'Auto Reply' and save the file to your Desktop by clicking on the save location as desktop and then clicking 'Save'.
Setting the auto reply
You can now open your Windows Mail; in here you can click 'Tools' and the 'Mail Rules' tab and click new. Under 'Select the Conditions for your rule' you can select 'For all messages'. Now by the 'Select the Actions for your rule', you can check in 'Reply with message'. After that you can click on the 'Contains people' option by the 'Rule Description' and provide your e-mail address and click 'OK' now you can click on the 'message' option you can select 'Text' from the 'Files of Type' drop down box. From here, you can highlight the 'Auto Reply' file and click 'Open'.
You may have issues in setting the auto reply in the correct way for your desired e-mail account, if you have selected and typed in a different e-mail address or typed it incorrectly. You can check the e-mail address field and try again. You need to save the auto reply file that you created first as text file. Else, you won’t be able to find it when you browse the file after selecting the file type as text.
